Our mixing equipment is checked and rechecked continually so that it performs to its maximum potential. Documented standardized testing is done at every production site, and the product has to pass these tests before it can be sold. Established testing parameters and frequency requirements ensure the consistency and quality you have come to expect with Black Gold®. This testing information is also entered into a computer and reviewed. But probably Sun Gro’s greatest tool in producing quality products is its employees. It all begins with having the production team trained, so they know how to make a quality product and what to monitor to ensure that quality is found in every product we sell. In addition to this quality focused production team, Sun Gro has quality technicians and Grower Specialists (technical horticultural professionals with graduate degrees) that monitor and support the manufacturing process. Finished product testing includes the same characteristics tested in the raw materials, plus date code, yield, a retained sample and a visual pallet inspection. Each Sun Gro plant is audited annually by outside auditors for their compliance to the quality procedures. Plants are graded and given recommendations for improvement.
