What makes an OMRI Listed product natural & organic product different than a natural & organic product not listed with OMRI? |
Non-OMRI Listed product – the product is made with naturally occurring components, but the sourcing of the components and documentation of the manufacturing processes has not occurred.

OMRI Listed product – All of the components are reviewed for organic authenticity and the manufacturing process is reviewed and documented, so a verifiably organic product is produced. |

Why is a gardening product OMRI Listed and not Certified Organic? |
Certified Organic – The USDA organic certification program was designed for verifying the organic authenticity of consumable organic products for the consumer. |
OMRI Listed – OMRI is an independent organization, formed by the organic certification agencies for the review of “inputs” that are used in the production of certified organic products. Organic farmers depend on OMRI Listed products because they know they have been reviewed for appropriateness of use, and when they are used it makes the certification process easier for the farmer.

How is an organic fertilizer different from a synthetic fertilizer? |
The most significant difference is that an inorganic fertilizer is manufactured from non-natural occurring sources. Inorganic fertilizers are more predicable in their release pattern. |
Organic fertilizers are derived from naturally occurring sources, including mined product. Organic fertilizers have a less predictable release pattern, but they encourage microbial activity and they don’t promote fast lush growth.
